Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School Athletic Director John Heise has announced that two senior soccer players, Victoria Koehn and Michelle McElroy, have signed national letters of intent to attend Hutchinson Community College in the fall and play soccer for the school.
Victoria has played for three years for the Crusaders as a stalwart defender. After her junior year, she received Second-Team All-City recognition for her find season. She also plays club soccer for the River City Lady Tigers, Coached by Sammy Lane, who is also the Head Coach at Hutchinson Community College. Victoria and her parents, Lyle and Joyce Koehn, are members of Resurrection Parish.
Victoria plans to major in accounting.
Michelle has also played for the Crusaders varsity team since her freshman year, primarily as a goalkeeper. One of her favorite moments was scoring a goal on a penalty kick last year against Wichita East. In addition to playing for KMC, Michelle is also a goalkeeper for the Cholita Strykers.
Michelle and her parents, Randy and Sherri McElroy, are members of St. Mary’s Parish in Derby. She plans to major in graphic design, perhaps at Ft. Hays State University after she completes her work at Hutchinson Community College.
