Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School Athletic Director John Heise announced that senior Darice Fountaine will sign a National Letter of Intent to attend Division 1-A Savannah State University next year and to play basketball for the school.
The signing ceremonies will take place on May 6 at 2:00 pm. She will sign her Letter of Intent in the KMC Round (just inside the main entrance door).
This past season Darice was the Crusaders’ leading scorer, averaging over 16 points per game. She also led KMC in rebounding this past year, averaging 10 rebounds per game.
Her post-season recognition this year includes First-Team All-City, Honorable Mention All-Metro, and Second Team Mention All-State. She was also nominated as a McDonald’s All-American.
Darice is the daughter of Denise Fountaine Fields and Leonard Fields. The Fields family belongs to Holy Savior Parish in Wichita.
