Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School Athletic Director John Heise has announced that KMC senior Anthony Cantele has signed to play in the Kansas Shrine Bowl Senior All-Star Football game, to be played at Emporia State University on the last Saturday in July. Anthony will be the placekicker for the West Team and will be reunited with former KMC and current Wichita Southeast Head Coach Gary Guzman.
Anthony has already signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Division I Missouri State University in the fall and play soccer for the school.
A four-year honor student, Cantele was the placekicker for the Crusaders football team each of his four years at KMC. He received All-State Honorable Mention as a placekicker his sophomore and junior years, and was named to the All-Metro Team and First Team All-State his senior year for his placekicking.
Anthony plans to major in Exercise Science at Missouri State. He and his parents, John and Sue Cantele, are members of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.
