Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School Athletic Director John Heise has announced that KMC senior Anthony Cantele will sign a National Letter of Intent to attend Division I Missouri State University in the fall and play soccer for the school. The signing will take place on Wednesday, February 1 at 1:15 pm in the KMC Round, just inside the main entrance to the school.
A four-year starting forward for the Crusaders soccer team, Cantele accumulated numerous awards. He was named First Team All-City each of the last three years. In addition, he was named First Team All-Region and First Team All-State in each of the last three years as well.
Cantele was the leading scorer for the Crusaders each of the last three years, and scored 40 goals during his senior year.
A four-year honor student, Cantele was also the placekicker for the Crusaders football team each of his four years at KMC. He received All-State Honorable Mention as a placekicker his sophomore and junior years, and was named to the All-Metro Team and First Team All-State his senior year for his placekicking.
Anthony plans to major in Exercise Science at Missouri State. He and his parents, John and Sue Cantele, are members of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.
