Letter of Intent Signees

Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School Athletic Director Mark Carney announced today that KMC Senior Chelsey Schumacher will sign a National Letter of Intent to attend and play soccer at Division II Rockhurst University in Kansas City next fall. The ceremony will take place Wednesday, April 11 at 10:00 am in the KMC Round (just inside the main entrance).
Chelsey has played all four years for the Crusaders, earning a varsity letter in each year. A defensive specialist, she has been the team’s sweeper all four years.
Schumacher has helped to lead the Crusaders to the Greater Wichita Athletic League soccer championship each of the last three years, two of which had the Crusaders undefeated. In addition, the Crusaders were third place state finalists in 2004 and 2005, and reached the quarterfinals her junior year.
Schumacher was named to the All-State First Team in 2005 and 2006.
In addition to soccer, she is a four-year player on the KMC varsity basketball team, and a four-year player on the Crusaders volleyball team, earning varsity letters in each sport each of those years.
Chelsey plans to be a nursing major, and has been awarded both Athletic and Academic scholarships from Rockhurst.
